A new state school for Holmview, previously described as Bahrs Scrub, was originally planned to open for Term 1 2026. 

Timing for the school opening has been delayed to 2027, to address issues raised in the planning phase.

The new school will increase capacity in the local school network and provide enrolment relief to surrounding schools.

Update - Oct 2025

Works have begun including controlled blasting activities from Thursday 16 October 2025 and is expected to occur once per week for the next three to four months. 

Vibration, noise and dust impacts have been considered, and necessary measures are being taken to minimise the disruption to nearby homes. Take caution when driving on surrounding roads, as traffic conditions may change during a blast.

Additionally, as the road surrounding this project comes under Logan City Council jurisdiction, we have been informed that FKG have reached out to LCC seeking approval to limit access along Tallagandra Road during construction (refer to proposed detour map below). These discussions are continuing.
