MACALISTER ELECTORATE YOUTH ADVISORY COMMITTEE

What is MacYAC?

It’s an opportunity for those who are passionate about local issues to meet throughout the year with other like-minded individuals.

A chance to speak up, be heard and contribute to real changes here in the Macalister Electorate. All while you learn about Government locally and at the State and Federal levels.

Members are chosen through a nomination process and get a 2-year term to get involved.

What does MacYAC involve?

· Advising your local MP Melissa McMahon on local and state issues from your perspective

· The sharing of ideas on how to get important messages to young people

· Opportunities to provide feedback on draft laws and community updates

· The building of leadership and communication skills

· A behind-the-scenes look at how government works

· Representing your peers for the Macalister electorate

Who can join?

· If you’re in Year 11 or 12 at a high school in Macalister – you're in the zone!

· If you're 18–23 years old and live in the electorate, we want to hear from you too

What’s it like being part of MAC YAC?

It’s a mix of professional development opportunities, talk around local issues and then there’s the building of social connections through social events and community activities.

You’ll make a difference, build confidence, get involved, and have a great time while doing it.
